Hummus is a delicious and healthy Middle Eastern dip that has gained popularity worldwide. It is made from simple ingredients such as chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, and garlic. In this recipe, I’ll show you how to make creamy and flavorful hummus that will impress your taste buds and your guests. Let’s get started!
1 can (15 ounces) chickpeas, rinsed and drained, or 1 ½ cups cooked chickpeas
¼ cup lemon juice (from 1 ½ to 2 lemons), more to taste
1 medium-to-large clove garlic, roughly chopped
½ teaspoon fine sea salt, to taste
½ cup tahini
2 to 4 tablespoons ice water, more as needed
½ teaspoon ground cumin
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
Cook chickpeas in water and about ½ teaspoon bicarbonate of soda for about 15 minutes. Rinse then drain.
Process all the ingredients for the hummus until creamy, drizzle with extra olive oil.
